Skyview Golf Course Review
The Golf Gurus teed it up this week at Skyview Golf Course. Both Mark and myself enjoyed the course but were not overly impressed. Mark rates this course a 6.5 out of 10 and I gave it a 6 out of 10. As usual along with the video review you will find pictures of the course and a brief write-up and rating of the different aspects of the course. We hope you enjoy the review.
We would also like to take this time to invite you to submit your golf course reviews. Please feel free to submit written or video reviews to use at golfcoursereviewgurus@gmail.com and we will be happy to post them to our blog. You can also send pictures of some of your favorite holes.

Course Ratings (Ratings 1 -10):
Staff: 8
The Staff at the course was great; they couldn’t have been friendlier. The starter chatted with us for a few minutes and gave us good insight on the course. The other staff members that we interacted with were also very friendly.
Facilities: 7
Skyview offers a full driving range. Most driving ranges you are hitting off of mats, but Skyview has a both a grass and mat area to hit off of. For $5 you can get a small bucket of balls to warm up for your round. They also offer a nice putting area which gives you a true idea of how the greens will play that day. The pro-shop, although small, was well stocked with various different golf items. The bar area is nothing special, but who are we to complain, the beer was still cold.
Manicured: 8
The course was maintained very well and was in great shape. The tee boxes were nice and flat, the fairways were cut short, and the greens were lighting fast and rolled very smooth. I thought the rough was grown a little too high, but that’s what I get deciding to play out of the long stuff all day. Some holes on the course also offered some really nice scenic views.
Booking Process: 6
The booking process was very easy. I went to the course website, www.skyviewgolf.com, clicked the golf course link, which brought me to book a tee time. The site then brings you to a screen that allows you to pick the date and time you want to play. It then shows all available times for that day. All you have to do is click the time you want and give a credit card to hold your time. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after booking.
Price: 7
The rates at Skyview are in line with other private courses in Northern New Jersey. We paid $75 for a weekend rate which included cart. Weekday and twilight rates are substantially cheaper.
Please see our golf course rates section for a detailed list of all fees charged at Skyview.
Overall Golf Experience: 7
If you are looking for something different, fun and challenging, then Skyview is your course. I don’t think there is a hole on the course that is flat. It seems like every hole is either uphill or downhill which makes for a fun day. The course has many blind shots so you may have to play it more than once to really know where you want to hit your tee shots as well as your approach shots into the green. Overall this was a fun course to play. The yardage of the course indicates that it is short, from the blues its only about 6,000 yards. However don’t let the yardage fool you, because of the many elevations changes, some holes play a lot longer than the yardage indicates. With that said, in my opinion Skyview was nothing spectacular. If you get a chance it’s worth playing because there are some funky holes, but it is not a course that is a must play.
