Meadows Golf Club Golf Course Review
The Meadows, although not too difficult, was a fun little course that had a few challenging holes. A word to the wise however, if you do happen to play this course be sure to bring plenty of mosquito repellent and a hard hat. The course is situated in wet lands which makes it a great breeding group for mosquitoes and the holes are crammed tightly together so keep your eye out for arrant shots. The course plays 6000 yards from the whites (the tees we played), but the yardage is deceiving because it is extremely flat. There are literally no elevation changes and if the course isn’t too wet, you get a lot of roll. I don’t think I was outside 150 yards after my tee shot all day except on the first par 5. Mark rated this course a 6 out of 10 and I gave it a 5 out of 10.

Staff: 3
Staff? What staff? The staff was pretty much non existent at this course. The only employee I saw all day was the person taking my money. There was no starter on the first tee, which led to a lineup of about 5 groups on the first hole. Not to mention there certainly were no rangers to be seen on the course. However, we did experience a nice pace of play.
Facilities: 4
The facilities were sub-par to say the least. The pro-shop, if you can call it that, in my opinion, didn’t really have anything to offer. The Meadows also had a small practice green; however it looked like it could only accommodate two people at a time. The only saving grace was they did have a bar. The bar was outdated, however the brew was cold.
Manicured: 6
Overall the course was manicured okay. The greens rolled true and the tee boxes and fairways were kept in good shape. The sand bunkers had plenty of sand in them. With that being said their was a bad smell from the stagnant pools of water around the course, and the ponds all had a green scum layer on top.
Booking Process: 5
Booking process was done online and was very easy. However you cannot book tee times on the Meadows website, it was done through a third party. The course website indicated to call if you want to book directly through them. As an observation, it didn’t seem like we even needed a tee time in that anyone who showed up was allowed to go right out. I would still recommend getting one just to be on the safe side.
Price: 6
We paid $64 to walk on a weekend, which I didn’t think was too bad. However if you include a cart you will be up over $80 at which point this course is not worth it. If you need a place to play and are in a bind then the Meadows is your course. That’s under the assumption that you don’t mind walking the course. Please note that rates are not provided on the website so you will need to call to determine weekday and off peak weekend rates.
Overall Golf Experience: 5
The Meadows was a decent course that I would recommend to someone if they were in a bind and lives within a half hour drive to the course. The course offers a fun but not overly challenging track. You should be prepared to be eaten by mosquitoes if you don’t bring bug repellant and you may have to duck out of the way of some oncoming tee-shots. With that said, the course isn’t too overly priced if you walk and you should have no trouble getting a tee time.
