High Bridge Hills Golf Club Review
The Gurus played High Bridge Hills Golf Course located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I had never heard of this course before this year and can say that I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in great condition and offered a very challenging track. The club house was nothing great, but the course design really made up for it. Both Mark and I rate this course a 7.5 out of 10 and would recommend this course for anyone looking for a true links course in New Jersey.

The fairways were in pretty good shape, however two or three holes did have signs on a fungus starting to form. The course plays like a true links course and as a result tall fescue lines the fairways. The fescue adds a nice touch, however make sure to bring a lot of balls because if you are not straight off the tee you are not going to find to many balls. The greens all seemed to be in good shape and rolled true of the putter face.
Facilities: 6
Facilities at this course are really nothing special. The pro shop offered the essentials and they did have a full bar. The course also offers a driving range (always a nice touch) and a putting green to allow golfers to get warmed up before heading out.
Price: 7
I thought the price was fair for this course. We paid $79 for our round, which included cart. All carts came with GPS navigation always a nice touch.
Staff: 7
The staff at this course was good. The starter was extremely nice and provided some valuable insight on the course and a few tips on how to play certain holes. The people in the pro-shop were also very pleasant. I can say that there was definitely a ranger presence on the course that made sure the play continued at a brisk pace.
Booking Process: 7
Booking a tee-time was very simple. Reservations can be made both over the phone and on-line. I received a confirmation email shortly after booking, the entire process was very smooth.
Overall Golf Experience: 7.5
High Bridge Hills provided a very challenging track. This is a true links style golf course. I recommend bringing a lot of golf balls if you are a hacker such as myself, do to the high fescue that lines the fairways on each hole. If you want to play this course at its best make sure to play during July or August when the fescue is fully grown in, earlier or later then that the course will play a little easier. The Golf Gurus recommend this course to anyone in the area looking for a fun challenging links course.
