                                  Eagle Ridge Golf Course Review

The Gurus headed to golf in South Jersey for our latest review.  We decided to play Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood New Jersey.  I had played Eagle Ridge Golf Course once before and was excited to get their, however I soon found out the course was in very bad shape.  Fairways were burnt out and the tee boxes were a mess.  The last time I played this course everything was immaculate, so based of the two times I have played I decided to give this course a 6.5 out of 10

                                  Manicured:  4

Eagle Ridge Golf Course was in really bad shape.  This may be due to the very dry summer South Jersey has been having.  The fairways were like hitting of concrete and they were all burnt out and the tee boxes consisted of weeds and dirt.  I had played here last year and the course was in much better shape. Lets hope this was all due to the lack of rain.  (To the right are some examples of the conditions)

                                  Facilities:  9

The facilities at Eagle Ridge Golf Course are spectacular.  The club house and golf shop are top notch.  They also offer a very nice putting and chipping area and also have a very nice driving range.

                                  Price: 8

We played twilight and only paid $35 for a nice course.  Prime rates are significantly higher, right around $90.  If the course is maintained properly it would be worth it but the way it is playing this summer save your money and play somewhere else.

I called to make my tee-time and was told is would cost me $35.  I also requested to play two specific 9 hole tracks in that the course offers three different 9 hole courses.  When I arrived I was told the price was $48.  After much back and fourth they agreed to honor the $35 price.  I was then told the course I had requested was all booked up and I would have to play the course I had requested I not play.

                                  Booking Process: 8

Booking a tee-time was very simple.  Reservations can be both over the phone and on-line.  I received a confirmation email shortly after booking, the entire process was very smooth up until the time I arrived at the course

                                  Overall Golf Experience: 6.5

Eagle Ridge Golf Course provided a fun track, however I did not enjoy myself as much as I have in past years do to the condition the course was in.  Hopefully the grounds crew can start watering the course and re-seed the tee-boxes before I return next year.
